The first book in history to have the front cover entirely created by AI.

By Adam Riccoboni

The newly released book “The AI Age” represents a historic moment, with its December 2019 publication.

This historic event is a world-first and a new landmark in the story of AI. This is the first time in all human history, that the front cover of a book, has been entirely created by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

But you thought AI/machines can’t be creative? Yes, they can.

A specific type of Machine Learning called Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), can create Art. As “The AI Age” was written by Adam Riccoboni, the CEO of Critical Future, he was able to use this cutting-edge AI for the first time ever to create a book cover.

The process involved feeding 200,000 book covers into the AI System. After just 1 week on a high powered computer, the AI System learned what it took human beings millennia to discover – how to create a winning book cover.

Ali El Hassouni, a Critical Future, AI developer, and a PhD level expert in GANs, developed this AI System. The remarkable unique process is shown in this video:

You might be wondering – what will happen to all the creatives and designers now that AI can be creative? Will all the creatives be out of a job? That’s just one of the important questions answered in this ground-breaking book, described as:

“The best book on AI that has ever been written” by Jeremy Baker, a regular commentator on the BBC, and an affiliate professor.

Liz Pellegrini, the Head of Innovation Labs, at tech giant says Riccoboni’s book is::

“A must-have book for anyone interested in AI and its impact on our society.”

Other reviews have called the book “the AI Bible” and “the most thoughtful guide on AI”.

The central premise of the book is that the world is at an inflection point. We are on the precipice of change. A technological revolution is about to occur.

As author Adam Riccoboni puts it:

“Artificial Intelligence is the most important technological revolution of our time. Google CEO Sundar Pichai believes “AI will be more important than electricity or fire”, Stephen Hawking argues “it could be the biggest event in the history of our civilization.” And Vladimir Putin said, “whoever’s rules in AI will rule the world.” Whatever you think of AI, all our lives and all our careers will be transformed by AI over the next decade.

Imagine if, in the 1990s, you knew the internet was going to change the world. What would do? Invent Facebook or Amazon? Become a VC, study digital marketing? Give up your job at Blockbuster video and invest in Netflix?

We will be at this point again in the 2020s. The tech this time is not the internet. It is something more profound – Artificial Intelligence. A technology that is more ubiquitous than anything that has come before. AI will be developed into all the nooks and crannies of our lives, to create an enchanted world.

In the future, AI has the potential to reach human-level intelligence, and then run away redesigning itself to become a superintelligence. A god by another name. This fascinating prospect has the world’s most famous scientists and atheists, talking about the potential of technological god, coming in our lifetimes.

What will that mean in monetary terms? The quantitative research team at Critical Future of PhD level economics researchers quantified just how much economic value will be created by AI over the next 15 years using a robust econometrics model – it is $19 trillion, about the same size as the entire US economy.

This great technological and economic shift will create winners and losers. Millions of jobs will be displaced. Millions more created. We will all need to adapt. Everyone will need new AI Age skills.

But what is AI? What is its history? How does AI work? How can a business use AI? What will be the impact of AI on jobs? What are the skills needed in the AI Age? And what will be the future of AI and humanity?

For the first time, all the big questions about AI are answered in this one book, “The AI Age”.”
